2007 Updates
December 31, 2007 - 21 weeks old!
Eddie weighs about 10 lbs. He is getting so big so fast. He is such a big boy! He is staying with Grandma and Grandpa Weaver while Mommy and Daddy are spending extra time with Laynie at the hospital.
December 22, 2007 - 19 1/2 weeks old!
Eddie weighs 9 lbs 12 oz and is 22 1/2 inches long. He is doing very well and growing quickly.
December 15, 2007 - 18 1/2 weeks old!
Eddie weighs 9 lbs 2 oz and is 21 inches long. He is still doing very well. He is always smiling and laughing. He is such a sweet baby.
December 8, 2007 - 4 months old!
Eddie weighs 9 lbs and is 21 inches long. He is doing pretty well. He is cranky because he has colic, but he is doing well other than that.
December 1, 2007 - 16 1/2 weeks old!
Eddie now weighs 8 lbs and 15 oz and is 21 inches long. He is doing very well. He is gaining weight and even sleeping most of the night if not all night long. He is a little colically.
November 24, 2007 - 15 1/2 weeks old!
Eddie now weighs 8 lbs 12 oz and is 21 inches long. He is doing very well at home and is gaining weight steadily. He is smiling a lot and even giggling a little bit.
November 17, 2007 - 14 1/2 weeks old!
Eddie weighs a little more than 8 lbs and is 20 1/2 inches long. He is doing very well after his surgery and will be going for a follow up Monday, November 19th. He is eating anywhere from 2 - 3 oz. every 3 hours during the day and 4 - 5 hours during the night.
November 6, 2007 - 13 weeks old!
Eddie weighs 7 lbs. 14 oz. He is 19 inches long. He is having surgery today for his testicular hernia which has gotten worse very quickly. He started being really fussy Sunday evening. We all got very little sleep. Monday evening was even worse. He wasn't eating as much as normal, and he would scream this very high-pitched scream every once in a while which told us he was in pain. We didn't know what to do. Finally, at 1 am Tuesday morning Bill quickly noticed that his hernia had popped up again, but it was 2 - 3 times the size it had been. We took him to the emergency room where we spent 3 hours while they had different doctors come in and look at him, KUBs taken of his belly, IVs put in, morphine given, a doctor came in and pushed the hernia back where it belongs, and for the doctors to decide that he needed surgery Wednesday. Then we waited 3 hours for them to get him admitted and up to his floor. Needless to say we were very tired. He is having surgery tomorrow, November 7th at 8 am.
October 30, 2007 - 12 weeks old!
Eddie weighs 7 - 8 lbs. and is 19 inches long. He is taking 3 - 4 oz. every 3 - 4 hours. Now that Laynie is home the two fo them really like to cuddle together.
October 23, 2007 - 11 weeks old!
Eddie weighs 7 lbs. and is 19 1/2 inches long. He is taking 70 - 140 cc every 2 - 4 hours. He hasn't been in to see Laynie all week. I think he misses her. He sometimes gets fussy for no reason.
October 16, 2007 - 10 weeks old!
Eddie got his 2 month immunizations. He has been crabby since, but once he gets to sleep he sleeps pretty well. He weighs 6 lbs. 11 oz. and is 18 3/4 inches long. He has not been eating as well this week due to the shots and oral vaccine, but is eating between 45 - 90 cc every 3 - 4 hours.
October 9, 2007 - 9 weeks old!
Eddie is still doing pretty well at home. He is still not sleeping well because of the gas. He weighs 6 lbs. 5 oz. and is 18 inches long. He is taking anywhere from 25 - 140 cc every 2 - 4 hours. He is still sleeping between 3 - 5 hours at a time.
October 2, 2007 - 8 weeks old!
Eddie is doing well. He weighs 5 lbs. 10 oz. He is taking 60 - 100 cc every 3 to 4 hours. He is 17 inches long. The hernia has come back, but the doctors have shown me how to push it back up where it belongs.
September 25, 2007 - 7 weeks old!
Eddie weighs 5 lbs. 9 oz. and is 17 1/2 inches long. He is starting to get some cute chubby cheeks! He is taking anywhere from 30 - 100 cc every 3-4 hours. He has been home for two weeks. He is having some problems with gas and therefore wakes often and whines, groans, or grunts. So, needless to say, I am not getting a whole lot of sleep. We are hoping to get him into a routine before Laynie comes home.
September 18, 2007 - 6 weeks old!
Eddie weighs 4 lbs. 6 oz. and is 17 1/2 inches long. He is taking anywhere from 30 - 100 cc every 3 - 4 hours. He has now been home a whole week. He is now sleeping most of the night. He only wakes up at 12 or 1 and then again at 5 or 6. He has several doctors appointments in the next week.
September 11, 2007 - 5 weeks old!
Eddie came home today!! We were so excited! He didn't sleep much. He was awake at 3, 6, and 7 am. So, needless to say, I didn't sleep long either, but who cares, one of my babies is home! He is eating anywhere from 40 - 70 cc. He weighs 3 lbs. 14 oz. and is 17 inches long.
September 4, 2007 - 4 weeks old!
Eddie is weighing 3 lbs. 8 oz. He is now mainly in charge of his own feeding schedule. He gets fed at least every 4 hours, but if he wakes up earlier and is hungry, he can be fed then. He gets to eat at least 30 cc every feeding, but can have as much as he wants. He ate 50 cc at one feeding today!! He had an eye exam today to check to make sure the vessels in his eyes are growing propperly. They are growing right on schedule. I got to console him after his exam. It was so nice to snuggle with him and let him know that everything was alright!!
August 28, 2007 - 3 weeks old!
Eddie is weighing 2 lbs. 14 oz. He is getting 27 cc every 3 hours. He is getting 2 bottles for every feed that goes through his feeding tube. He is doing pretty good with the bottle feeds. He usually takes most of it in the bottle, however, sometimes he has to have the last little bit put into his feeding tube because he just gets too tired to finish it on his own.
August 21, 2007 - 2 weeks old!
Eddie is weighing in at 2 lbs. 9 oz. He is eating 24 cc every 3 hours and two of those feeds are in a bottle. This will get him to practice his sucking reflex. We also found out that his blood type is B+.
August 14, 2007 - 1 week old!
Eddie is having a little trouble digesting his food right now. He is having to skip feeds every once in a while because he cannot get it worked through his system. His chromosome testing came back today. The results were normal!
